Dr Samuel Oxford

Lead Researcher at NeckCentric

Dr. Samuel Oxford is the founder of NeckCentric and a leading expert in biomechanics and athletic performance. With over 20 years of experience in sports science, he has dedicated his career to understanding how the neck and cervical spine influence strength, performance, and injury prevention.

A biomechanist and accredited UK Strength and Conditioning Coach (UKSCA), Samuel developed NeckCentric to bridge the gap between cutting-edge research and real-world athlete performance. His work focuses on neck function, strength, and control, helping athletes build resilience against concussion, postural instability, and sport-specific demands.

Samuel has led and supervised numerous PhD and applied research projects across sports such as rugby, football, motorsport, and combat sports. His interdisciplinary approach combines biomechanics, physiology, and strength and conditioning to create evidence-based strategies that improve both performance and long-term athlete health.

Through collaborations with professional teams and sports organisations, Dr. Samuel Oxford continues to advance how neck science is understood and applied in sport — from the lab to the field.
